Standard Life and Seven IM multiple winners at UK Platform Awards

The Schroders UK Platform Awards are now in their 11th year.

Standard Life and Seven Investment Management emerged as multiple winners at last night’s 2017 Schroders UK Platform Awards, in association with Professional Adviser, while Nucleus retained its title of Platform of the Year.

The independent panel of judges, chaired by Personal Finance Society chief executive Keith Richards, judged Standard Life the best platform for adviser service, the leading platform for model portfolio services, the leading platform-enabled retirement proposition and the best platform provider with assets under management (AUM) of more than £15bn.

For its part, Seven Investment Management picked up awards as the leading platform for advisers with discretionary permissions, the best wealth management platform and, in partnership with Technical Connection, the leading integrated planning tool provider. The firm also appeared in the bronze-medal position for the coveted Platform of the Year category – behind Nucleus and runner-up AJ Bell.

Adviser firm categories

In the adviser firm categories, First Wealth regained the title of leading adviser practice (firms with fewer than 10 advisers), which it won in 2015, with Thomas & Thomas in second place. Aspect 8 was meanwhile judged the leading adviser business (firms with more than 10 advisers) ahead of True Potential. This was one of three runner-up spots for True Potential although the group did finish the night on a high, winning the award for best platform provider (AUM up to £15bn).

The full results can be seen below but we are delighted to highlight just one more: Professional Adviser‘s own Tom Ellis being named the leading platform journalist of 2017, with the judges making special mention of his in-depth Re:Platforming series, which ran over the course of the summer.

Now in their 11th year, the Schroders UK Platform Awards were hosted by BBC journalist Kate Silverton and supported the Mines Advisory Group charity.
